Does Lagerbäck Still Have Much To Give As Sweden Coach?

February 14th, 2008 | By: eddy | 1 Comment »

Continuity sometimes doesn’t always mean that a team will play great football and achieve success.Lagerbäck has been Sweden coach since 2000 when he jointly coached the team with Tommy Söderberg, and then given the sole responsibility to handle the team since 2004.He sure did not do well at the last world cup making certain blunders that really questioned his ability to further lead the team.
Now the Euro championships is around the corner (June),Sweden has a bunch of very talented players and such a long time that Sweden won anything in football, i think its high time a different mastermind is brought in to tinker the team to greater heights.

I couldn’t agree more; as, I am sure, is the common sentiment resonating throughout Sweden. In my opinion, Lagerback does NO good. You have club and national teams all over the world sacking their coaches after a mere string of games, let alone a single season or year. Although some teams do jumo the gun, Sweden would not be one of them. The face of Swedish football is changing: a new style of play, a new outlook, and a new approach. This nascent change cannot be expected to proper without a new manager. Lagerback has proved ineffectual; why not try something new?
