Edman Move to France Might be Ticket to Germany

February 7th, 2006 | By: WC Bob | No Comments »

Three games into the season, Sweden’s Erik Edman was sold from Tottenham to Rennes. At the time it was a move that seemed a bit dodgy given Edman’s regular action at White Heart Lane, but looking back at the move the 27-year-old thinks it was the best thing that could have happened to him. A move that will help his chances to play for Sweden this summer in Germany.

“He didn’t want to sell me but I am very happy with my move,” Edman said. “I want to play, feel that I am a regular and be good as a person. My girl and son are terrific and I am happy here.

“I understand that people might feel it was a strange decision but for me it feels truly right. I want to feel that I have done everything I can. A player might have qualities but confidence is important if you are to have success in football.”

A man who loves football, his girl and his son….it doesn’t get any better than this. Brings a tear to me eye!
