It Looks Good For Swedes in Rennes

April 12th, 2006 | By: Nicke | 2 Comments »

Kim Källström scored again tonight when Rennes advanced to semi-finals in the French cup. Rennes won against Montpellier with 5-3 after extra time, the score was 1-1 after 90 minutes and Källström scored a beautiful goal in a fantastic extra time with six goals in less then ten minutes. This weekend Källström scored two goals when Rennes won their eight consecutive league game. Andreas Isaksson made a good game and he has received lots of well deserved praise lately. From Rennes is also reported that Erik Edman do not have to perform an operation on his injured knee and he can be back in play before the French league is finished.

Rennes has after a tough autumn made a fantastic spring and is currently at the third place in the French league which gives a qualification place to Champions League.
I have always preferred Anders Svensson before Källström but after impressive performances lately I might have to rethink my opinion if Anders Svensson does not start to impress in Swedish league soon. Even if Källström almost has made me change my mind something very special would have to happen before Lagerbäck reconsider Anders Svensson’s place in the starting eleven.

Källström made a good game, Isaksson looked a little but unsecure.
