Keeper cut training short for second day in a row

June 5th, 2006 | By: Jon | No Comments »

Andreas Isaksson cut training early again today. Lars Lagerbäck pooh-poohed the suggestion that the Swedish number one was injured, but did admit he was “sore”.

Lagerbäck also claimed it was planned that Isaksson should take it easy.

With the Swedish press reporting every groan and whimper the squad makes in detail, this latest development seems rather inconsequential; nevertheless, it’s good to see the coach taking precautions to ensure key players remain in contention for the opening matches of the tournement.
