Player Profile; Niclas Alexandersson

Niclas Alexandersson started his career in Halmstad BK where he played between 1988-95 and was voted midfielder of the year in Sweden 1995. During his time in Halmstad Alexandersson played in the Olympic tournament 1992 and debuted in the Swedish national team 1993. Alexandersson moved to Sheffield W 1997 after a short period in IFK Göteborg and he returned to IFK Göteborg 2004 and has impressed everyone in Sweden with a high level in every game he plays.

Alexandersson can be used as a defender on the right side or as a defensive central midfielder if necessary but he contributes most when he plays as a right midfielder. He is very useful since he can play at so many different positions and never does a bad game. In the world cup Alexandersson is a likely starter against England which he scored against in the World Cup 2002. In the games against Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago it is a close battle about the place between him and Christian Wilhelmsson.
