Sweet Sweeds Score

Several players in the Swedish national team scored in their club teams this weekend. Royal League had a full match day this weekend and both Niclas Alexandersson and Tobias Linderoth found the net. The two Swedish midfielders started their careers as offensive midfielders but have played with a defensive focus in the national team the last years, it’s nice to see that they still have offensive qualities.

Linderoth has shown in Copenhagen that he still can act as a playmaker and be a strong defensive force. If he can be a part of the Swedish offensive another dimension is added to an already flexible attack. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored again for Juventus when they won the top match against Inter. He has now scored in two consecutive games and is on his way back to the form that made him one of the best players in the world.

Amongst the players that fight to get a ticket to Germany both Zlatan Muslimovic and Lars Nilsson scored in their club teams. Nilsson has scored five goals in three games for Heerenveen but he has to make a fantastic spring to make it into the squad. Midfielder Martin Ericsson has moved to Bröndby and impressed in their Royal League game but he is still far from a ticket to Germany. Marcus Rosenberg had scored in five consecutive Ajax games before he left the pitch without a goal this weekend, he hit the post and showed that he should be a starter in Ajax and can probably plan for a trip to Germany this summer anyway.
