Zlatan ends goal drought as Sweden soaks up the sun

Zlatans goal drought is over. The tempestuous striker finally got on the score sheet, stroking the ball in between the legs of Palermo’s ‘keeper Federico Agliardi in the 51st minute, as Juventus won 2-1. It was Zlatan’s first goal since February.

Mauro Camoranesi picked out Zlatten as he advanced on goal and the man from Malmö kept his cool to beat the advancing Agliardi. Zlatan’s ecstatic response showed just what it meant and this will no doubt fuel the striker’s confidence ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

What with Zlattan and Fredrik Ljungberg scoring again, things are beginning to look promising for a side that has typically struggled to find the net. And with temperatures reaching 23°C in Stockholm today it seems things are really hotting up for the World Cup finals.
